Margie Mays

Margie Mays is a singer, actor, songwriter, and host based in Los Angeles. She is best known for her two-season appearance on American Idol (Seasons 17 & 18), as well as her recurring guest star role on FOX’s sitcom Call Me Kat, where she played an up-and-coming country singer. On the show she shared duets with on-screen songwriting partner (and Broadway alum) Cheyenne Jackson. Some of her favorite credits have also been in musical theater. She is a 2x award winner for her performance as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde the Musical (Hollywood Majestic) in 2022. She was nominated again for Best Performer in a Musical by BroadwayWorld for her performance as Jane in Disney’s TARZAN at Moonlight Amphitheatre in 2023. She also has ventured into the voice acting space, voicing the Build-A-Bear character Poodella on a brand new animated series called “KABU” (coming to streaming networks soon)! Most recently, she is returning from a run as the title role of Alice in the World Premiere of a new musical: Alice, Formerly of Wonderland (Ensemble Theatre Company in Santa Barbara). Margie has been teaching voice, piano, and coaching musical theatre auditions to her students for the last 8 years. She also has a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University graduate (majored in Human Biology, graduated Phi Beta Kappa), and from the Los Angeles College of Music (where she majored in Vocal Performance). Off the stage and screen, Margie’s special skills include talking extremely fast, spilling things, and creating piles of clothes on her apartment floor.
